Raymond Eugene Porter, 88, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Johnson Mathers Nursing Home in Carlisle, Kentucky.

He was born on September 4, 1933 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a son of the late Ollie and Katherine McGinnis Porter.

Eugene was a farmer and had been a custodian at Colonial Village Pharmacy and Total Care Pharmacy. He was also a former employee of U. S. Shoe in Flemingsburg.

He was a member of the Flemingsburg First Church of God and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and U. K. Wildcats fan. Eugene enjoyed reading and doing word puzzles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Faye Porter, two brothers-in-law, Brooks Crump and Kenneth Crump and a nephew, Randy Wayne Crump.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Ruby Louise Crump Porter, whom he married on December 19, 1959, half-sister, Roberta Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky, brother-in-law, Albert Crump and his wife Rose Ann of Flemingsburg and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 1, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Rev. Ben Tackett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Hickerson, Steve Hickerson, Ricky Crump, Randy Crump, Raymond Pollitt and Bobby McGinnis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Crump, Mark DeHart and Gene Crump.
