Marcella Marie Pope, 47, Maryville, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Kansas City, after a brief illness.

Born Sept 27, 1934, in Parnell, she was the daughter of Charles B. and Anna Auffert Schmitz. She was married to Robert E. Pope in 1955 at Parnell.

Mrs Pope was secretary to the Nodaway County clerk and a member of St Gregory's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Charles Pope, Brookfield, Fla, and William Pope, of the home; three daughters, Debbie Wanserski, St Joseph, Donna Pope and Denise Pope, both of Maryville; her mother, Mrs Anna Schmitz of Parnell; four brothers, Orley Schmitz, Loveland, Colo, Oscar Schmitz, Gladstone, Norbert Schmitz, Parnell, and Paulie Schmitz, Kirksville; two sisters, Marguerite DeFreese, Kansas City, and Irene Tobin, New Market, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at St Gregory's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Patrick's Cemetery.

The family rosary will be at 7:30 pm today at Price Funeral Home. The parish rosary will be at 8 pm Thursday night.
