James C. "Jim" Thomason, 89, of Paragould, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021. He was born September 1, 1932, in Marmaduke, to Truman and Flossie Thomason. Jim was a Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a retired farmer. Jim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Going to the lake was a special time with family. He was a member and long-time elder at Union Central Church of Christ.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, William Royce Thomason; half-brother, J.D. Thomason; and half-sister, Bernice Thomason.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Katie Thomason; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Chester Morten, Kathy and Scotty Hickson; grandchildren, Clint and Mari Morten, Ginger and Evan Smith, Jennifer and Dustin Hedge, Brooke and Andy Hoskins, Nathan and Madison Hickson, Noah Hickson, and Lindsey Hickson; great-grandchildren, Ali, Cassie, Gabby, Mikayla, Caleb, Kateleigh, Kyler, Macklyn, Linnik, and Graham.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Scotty Hickson, Evan Smith, and Dustin Hedge officiating. Clint Morten, Chester Morten, Scotty Hickson, Dustin Hedge, Evan Smith, and Andy Hoskins will serve as pallbearers.
