Carolyn "Connie" (Brooks) Kidd Reed, 84, of Allentown died Monday, September 27, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Ralph F. Kidd and Frank E. Reed. Born in Scranton, Lackawanna County, July 10, 1937, Connie was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Carolyn (Hauser) Brooks. A graduate of Cedar Crest College with a B.A. in Elementary Education, she taught in the Northern-Lehigh School District before retiring in 1997. Prior to that, Connie taught in the Parkland School District and the Allentown School District. She taught a total of 27 years. Connie was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.
Survivors: Son, Brenton E. Kidd (Erin) of Broadlands, VA; daughter, Carolyn M. Hatt (Monte Miller) of Glen Mills; brother, Cody H. Brooks of Dalton; sisters, Susan V. Brooks of Columbus, OH, Leslie B. Durant of Allentown; grandchildren - Colin, Owen, Cody, Dalton, Lizzie, and Caroline.
Service: A memorial service will be held 11:00 am. Monday, October 4, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman Street, Allentown. The Rev. Stephen T. Emick will be officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Monday in the church. Interment will follow the service in the Memorial Garden.
