Mary Evangeline Porter, 93, of Eldorado, Illinois, passed away on September 28, 2021 at River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville, Indiana.
Mary was born in Marion, Illinois to Ulric and Margaret Johnson on December 24, 1927. She married to the love of her life, Lawrence Anderson Porter on February 19, 1950, in Marion, Illinois. Lawrence preceded her in death after 60 wonderful years of marriage. Mary and Lawrence had worked the family farm side by side and once he passed, she missed him every day.
Until her health condition made it impossible, Mary was active in the life of the church at College Height Baptist Church. She was also a gifted artist, celebrated for her life like paintings of Southern Illinois landmarks, beautiful flowers and landscapes. Her life well lived was expressed through the acts loving her family and grandchildren, farming, gardening and cooking.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A Porter, son, Larry Porter, and great grandson, Chandler Moore.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Hall Pyott (Dave Pyott, deceased) and Donna Rowland (Kyle Rowland). Grandchildren: Heather Moore (Greg Moore), David Flota (Krysta Sanders), Luke Rowland (Kristen Rowland), Cody Rowland (Haylie Knuppel), Jacob Rowland (Samantha Rowland). Great grandchildren: Tyler Flota, Dylan Wallace, Natalie Flota, Vincent Flota, Gwendolyn Flota, Sam Harpe and Lily Flota.
