WALNUT RIDGE — Edward Franklin Rushing, 81, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.
He was born May 12, 1926, in Leachville, Mo., the son of the late Ben and Nellie Boyd Rushing. He was a boilermaker-welder for the Local 27 in St. Louis and an Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Williamson Rushing of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Don and Connie Clifford of Lafe, Terry and Kim Clifford of Paragould and Scott Rushing of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Lee Gray of Paragould; brother, Ralph Rushing of Malden, Mo.; sisters, Bernice Hamm of Missouri and Bernita Johnson of St. Charles, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Edward was also preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Walker and Carolyn Pollock.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Hoxie with the Rev. Lynn Garmroth officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery at Paragould.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Pollock, Joshua Pollock, Brad Gray, Lee Gray, Jerry Don Clifford and Terry Clifford.
Honorary pallbearers will include Terry James Clifford, Gary Lee Pollock and deacons of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hoxie.
