South Bend, IN. -- James Lindsey, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Jim was born June 13, 1929 in South Bend, to the late Claude & Susie (Shoue) Lindsey.
Jim was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patsy and a grandson, Blake Tulledge.
Left to cherish the memory of Jim are his children, Deborah Lindsey, Douglas (Michael) Lindsey, Cindy (David) Bauer, Nancy (Wayne) Tulledge; grandchildren, Marci (Brian), Missy, Bryce (Cris), Hilary (Nick), Garrett, Brandon (Jenn), Alec; great-grandchildren, Chasen, Avery, Owen, Elijah, Ashton, Ian, Olivia, Claire, Emily, Oliver, Ember, Johnathan, James, and Margaret.
Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army serving in Washington State, Hawaii and 2 years in Alaska. He was the recording secretary at Local 75, a business agent, 12 years as treasurer and 38 years as an insulator. Jim was a member of the Lydick United Methodist Church, and a Volunteer Fire Department Chief at Warren Township.
Jim enjoyed carpentry, gardening, and traveling to all 50 states, including Mexico and Canada. He and Patsy were foster parents to 11 children. Jim was an animal lover. He also enjoyed the White Sox and Notre Dame. Jim kept busy caring for his friends and neighbors. Most of all Jim loved his church family and his family who meant very much to him.
Visitation for Jim will be 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, October 3, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to begin at 4:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
