YORK Cathy J. Sanders, 48, died Monday, December 3, 2007, at her home. Born February 20, 1959, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Dora Ruth (Thomas) Sanders of Gettysburg, and Donald D. Lawver, who died in 1963. Cathy resided with Community Services in York from 19942003 and Penn-Mar Organization from 2003-2007. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg. She was also a member of Bell Social Club and Life Skills Unlimited in Gettysburg. Cathy was associated with the H.A.R.T. Center in New Oxford from 1980-1993 and was very active with the Adams County Special Olympics for many years. Cathy is survived by her mother and was the beloved sister of Joan F. Leeper and her husband, Gene of Chambersburg, Donna R. Ledbetter and her husband, Mike of Gainsville, Ga., Brenda E. Wood and her husband, John of Gettysburg, Richard T. Sanders and his wife, Joie of Woodsboro, Md., Patricia E. Keffer of Newton Falls, Ohio, Donald D. Sanders and his wife, Donna of Orrtanna, Barbara K. Costella and her companion, Larry Arnold of Gettysburg, and Debra A. Brown and her husband, Wayne of Roxbury. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with the Revs. Michael Allwein and Adam Leeper officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
