RED WING -- A memorial service for Janice C. Holm will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with the Rev. Randall D. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Wacouta Cemetery.
Mrs. Holm, 80, of Red Wing, died Monday (Dec. 3, 2007) at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Janice Cleone Larson was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Red Wing, and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1945. She worked as a telephone operator in Red Wing and St. Paul before moving to San Francisco for a brief time to do secretarial work. She married Bob Holm on Sept. 4, 1954, at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. They lived in Goodhue until moving to Red Wing in 1959. She worked a few years at Nords Drugstore in Red Wing and helped her parents for many years at Larson Resort in Wacouta.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jill Mehrkens of Wacouta; three sons, Jerry (Denise) and Jack (Lynn), both of Red Wing, and Tom (Dr. Angela Medina) of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be an hour before the service at the church.
Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel of Red Wing is handling arrangements.
