Patricia Jean Holley March 24, 1949 - September 24, 2021

Patricia Jean Holley, age 72 ½ years, of Mason, MI started her Heavenly Journey on September 24, 2021. Patricia was born March 24, 1949 to mother, Mildred Marie Larson, and father, Lester Benjamin Holley JR. in Eaton Rapids, MI.
Patricia grew up with a love of animals and gardening that she nurtured and grew all through her life. She was known for her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. People would stop while she was working in them and ask for tours and the names of her favorite plants.
Patricia's love of animals included a pet fawn, duck and a very special Cocker Spaniel, Lady, during her childhood. As an adult, there was always some kind of pet in the home including: dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, snakes and mice. Many of these pets her children would bring home with a "Can we keep it?" and a big smile. Her special pets were Tasty Tidbit, a toy Pomeranian, and Tuxedo Mask, a 24 pound purring ball of love.
Patricia had a knack for arts and crafts which she used to earn money at various craft shows with her sisters and children. Many enjoyable hours were spent making "Rodney" and "Rhonda" reindeer; "Grandma" and "Grandpa" paddles; pencil toppers; etc. and running the popcorn machine, the smell of which would draw customers to their booth.

Patricia loved woodworking, although it wasn't until later in life that she started to use the saws herself, as she has seen to many snipped fingers during her work years to be comfortable with them. She made dog houses, picnic tables and swing sets with her sister, Rhonda. A pole barn at her house in Charlotte was turned into a woodworking shop. Patricia and her sister, Vicki, made garden chairs; wood luminaires; yard silhouettes; and a variety of other items. Several of the silhouettes were displayed at her mother's and Step-father's home in Eaton Rapids including a Loch Ness Monster that delighted boaters on the river.
Patricia loved sewing and quilting for the house, craft shows and as gifts.
She spent many hours with her friend, Marletta (Mikki) Foster, making placemats; coasters; tablecloths; curtains; furniture covers; and lately facemasks. But her special love was quilting and machine embroidering. Family members and friends were gifted with beautiful quilts; "quillows" (quilts that fold up into a pillows); and "Go Bags" which are small bags with built-in pockets for toiletries to use while traveling. When Tamara bought her an embroidering machine, she went wild with it creating birthday and Christmas gifts for her family and friends. These gifts included shirts; towels; "warsh" (the extra letter gets you cleaner) cloths; and blankets. She was so excited by all the different designs that were available to her, that she was still playing with her machine until she became too sick to use it.
