Janice "Jan" Williams Smith
March 21, 1952 - September 25, 2021

Janice "Jan" Williams Smith, 69, of Emerson, GA, went to be with the Lord on September 25th, 2021.

Born on March 26th, 1952, in Rome, GA, Janice was the daughter of the late Doyle and Bernese Williams. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Edward Smith; mother and father-in-law, Genell and George Smith; and brother-in-law, Anthony Smith.

Survivors include her son, Eric Smith; daughter, Amanda (Chris) Jarrett; brother, David (Anderea) Williams; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ray) Brown; nephews, Dave Williams, Asa (Taylor) Williams, Brandon (Valerie) Hughes, DJ (Jade) Black, and Taylor Smith; nieces, Hannah (Eric) Mansfield, and Brittany (Chris) Roark. She also had several great-nieces and nephews that she loved so much. She also had a special dog, Max.

Janice was a graduate of Cartersville High School and Chattahoochee Technical College. She also attended the University of West Georgia. She retired from the Georgia Department of Labor where she worked for 26 years. She was a member of Emerson Church for over 50 years where she played the piano, helped cook meals, served and volunteered as much as she could. She loved being with her church family. She was always doing for others and always had a big smile on her face. A lot of people called her Mama Jan because she always took care of all of those around her and she had the most kind, caring, giving, and loving heart. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her great-nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Jan. She will be dearly missed by so many.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Parnick Jennings funeral home. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 1st, 2021, in the sanctuary of Emerson Church with David Williams and Rev. Greg Patterson officiating. The Interment will follow at Bethel "Crossroads" Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville with Pastor Chris Weldon leading the graveside service.

Dave Williams, Asa Williams, Mason Hughes, DJ Black, Kevin Mullinax and Bobby Mullinax will serve as pallbearers. Larry Roberson, Dakota Bunch, Gary Bunch, Donavan Shook, David Givens, and Dwayne Givens will serve as honorary pallbearers.
