John was born on May 9, 1970, in New York, son of Angelina Garcia and the late Tony Garcia. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Garcia. John was a graduate of Model High School. After high school, John entered the nursing profession as an LPN before going back to school and receiving his RN. He was an RN at Floyd Medical Center for a number of years. John loved riding his motorcycle and all things sports. Whether it was golf, baseball, or football, he not only loved participating, but especially loved cheering on his kids. His kids had his heart and his support in anything they did. John attended Life Church Rome.
Survivors include his 4 children, Mina, Mateo, Madalyn and Madoc Garcia, all of Rome; his mother, Angelina Garcia, Rome; 2 brothers Richard Garcia, Rome, and Pete Garcia (Candice), Calhoun; 5 nieces, Erica Garcia, Sarah Garcia, Maggie Garcia, Piper Garcia and Gaby Garcia.
In accordance with his wishes, John will be cremated, and a Celebration of his Life will be held at 6pm on Monday, October 4, 2021, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Cater officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4pm until 5:45pm on Monday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
