Alice, the youngest of five children of Eben Dyer Jordan Sr. and Julia Maria Clark was born on 12 April 1873 at Boston, Massachusetts.[1]

Alice married Arthur Wellesley Foster (1855-1929) on 11 November 1885 at Boston, Massachusetts.[2] [3]Her father was the co-founder of Jordan Marsh Department Store Chain in Boston. He purchased and refurbished Brockhampton Court in Herefordshire as a wedding gift for Alice and her husband, Arthur Wellesley Forster. They were in residence by 1906. Alice and Arthur had two sons born in England:
Capt. Cuthbert Wellesley Foster (b. 29 Mar 1887; d. 9 Jan 1952, England)[4]m. 1) 1907 at Dublin, Ireland, Ruby Garman (1887-1949); m. 2) Hattie M. Griffin (-aft 1952)
Lieut. Arthur Cedric Foster (b. 26 Apr 1891; d. 12 Mar 1915, Merville Hospital, France) served with the Grenadier Guards and died of his wounds in WWI
Arthur Wellesley Foster died on 13 September 1929 and his will was entered into probate on 12 November 1929 at Herefordshire, England. Alice Madeline Foster was listed as beneficiary.[5]

Alice Madeline (Jordan) Foster died in September 1932 in her 69th year at Brockhamton.[6] She is buried in All Saints at Brockhampton, Herefordhshire, England.
