FAMILY SEARCH. When John McBride Belnap was born on 11 May 1849, in Fremont, Iowa, his father, Gilbert Belnap (1821-1899), was 27 and his mother, Adaline Knight (1831-1919), was 18. He died on 22 June 1850, in Salt Creek Election Precinct, Cass, Nebraska, at the age of 1, and was buried in Ashton, Sherman, Nebraska.

MORMON PIONEER OVERLAND TRAIL. About 540 individuals and 104 wagons were in the Warren Foote Company when it began its journey on June 17, 1850 from the outfitting post at Kanesville (present day Council Bluffs), Iowa. This Church Train arrived in the Salt Lake Valley September 17-18, 26, 1850.
