Evelyn Louise Monie joined numerous friends and family in Paradise June 13, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Monie, whom she shared her life with for 68 years. She is survived by their 5 children; David (Anne), Mary, Joe (Catherine), Tom (Diana) and Kathleen (Joe Traw), 16 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, her brother Harold (Janet) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was born December 13, 1929 in Valley City, North Dakota to Walter and Ruth Hansen. She left North Dakota as a bookmobile Librarian in 1948 to see the world. She met Glenn in Missouri and they married February 4, 1949.

Glenn and Evelyn followed their family to Southern California for economic opportunities in 1952. They spent the next 40 years raising their children and grandchildren.

In retirement, she and Glenn traveled with an RV club, making so many friends and memories. In 1992, they relocated to North Idaho to be near Kathleen and Tom and their youngest grandchildren.

Evelyn's love of children extended into the community through her ministry as librarian at Holy Family Catholic School whom she considered a second family.

Rosary for Evelyn will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 7:00 pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church with a memorial Mass to be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Urn burial will be held at the St. Thomas Cemetery following the Memorial Mass.
