Our cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021 at the age of 87.

Connie was born at home in West Layton, Utah to Viola and John Stevenson on November 25, 1933. Connie adored her two older brothers, Carl and Gayle, and dear sister, Diane Russell, who all preceded her in death.

Connie's life began during the depression years in an idyllic country setting. She was raised within a mile of 28 first cousins, and considered this one of the great blessings of her life. In her youth she worked on the farm, helped with cleaning, cooking, babysitting and played with her cousins. Connie enjoyed piano lessons and was able to accompany studio dance lessons, choirs and many individuals. Her high school years at Davis High were busy with clubs, music and dance. This is also where she met the love of her life, Richard John Lewis of Bountiful. Mom was a born record keeper, and her journal documents that they had 293 dates! They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1954.

As newlyweds, Richard's army service took them to Fort Sam Houston, TX and Fort Lewis, WA for a few years. When discharged they made their home in Bountiful, UT. They were happy to be parents of 5 children – four daughters and one son. They loved living in their little "circle" for over 60 years with the most wonderful neighbors and friends anyone could wish for!

Connie was a hard worker her whole life. She raised her children, served in many church callings, and gave service to all around her.

Later in life she joined the workforce. She was employed by Davis School District in various positions, such as playground supervisor, reading tutor and as school secretary at Columbia Elementary in Kaysville for 13 years. As secretary it was said of her in a tribute, "She has a way of making all around her feel good and important."

Connie had so many outstanding qualities. She was charitable, loving, a peacemaker, organized, detail oriented, of high personal integrity, forgiving…and pretty darn perfect, according to her family! She was known for reaching out to others around her, whether it was neighbors or new people at church. She wanted all to feel included.

We are thrilled that Mom and Dad are together for eternity. We are certain she will hear the desire of her heart, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

Connie is survived by her children: Melanie Knighton, Delinda (Mark) Hansing, Mitchell, Monica and Michelle, sisters-in-law Nancy Stevenson and Dixie (Tom) Errett, as well as 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews who are all very special to her.

Our heartfelt thanks to Atlas Home Health & Hospice for their attentive care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Bountiful 58th Ward building, 200 West 200 North, Bountiful, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment – Bountiful City Cemetery.
