Dwight Blaine Hicks, age 72, of Marshallville, died Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a period of declining health.
Dwight was born on April 8, 1949, in Wooster, to Bronzel Hicks and Imogene (Short) Wayne, graduated from Orrville High School in 1967 and earn an Associate's Degree from The University of Akron. He married Tomma Adaire Tittle on May 18, 1968, in Orrville, and she survives.
He worked as a computer programmer for Westfield and Progressive Insurance Companies for over 45 years, retiring in 2016. He was also a long-time owner and operator of T.D Mini Storage and Fitness.
Dwight was a coach and volunteer for the Smithville and Orrville Youth Baseball programs. He was a proud republican with a passion for his family. He loved to spend time fishing with his children and grandchildren and coach their sporting events. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a mentor and "dad" to many others.

In addition to his wife, Tomma, he is survived by his son, Thomas (April) Hicks of West Salem; daughter, Arin Hicks of Marshallville; five grandchildren, Dale Hicks, Lauran Hicks, Marin (Jeremy Coburn) Shilling, Ashton Jones, and Carin Hicks; brother, Randall (Susan) Hicks of FL; nieces and nephews, Cassandra (Jamie) Mott, Randall Hicks, Jr., and Amanda (Tony) Natalizio; great nieces and nephews, Alex, Gavin, Jordyn, Brock, Alaric, Lucian, Stellan and Vincent; and good friends, Bill Wentsch and Josh Gochnauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Bailey Racer Blaine Gochnauer.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm.
Services will follow at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home, with celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
