ACKERL, Kenneth Carlyle Passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the age of 81. Ken is survived by his loving wife Ruth (nee Weber), children Debbie (Sonny), Karen (Frank), Larry (Karen), Kelly and Shayne (Nadine). He will be greatly missed by his adoring eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister Marilyn and brother Carl. Ken is predeceased by his mother Edna and his step-father Joseph. He is also now joyfully reunited with his youngest son Shawn. Ken was a graceful athlete, proud parent and caring husband. He truly made the world a better place for those whose lives he touched. The family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Pinehaven Nursing Home for the love, support and compassion shown to Ken and his family during his journey. Ken's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
