Debbie Sweeney, age 62 of Springville, TN, died Saturday September 25, 2021, at West Tennessee Healthcare – Volunteer Hospital in Martin, TN.

She worked as an operator for Dana Corporation in Paris for 21 years. She formerly worked at Tecumseh in Paris from 1989-2000.

Debbie loved her dogs Buster, Baily Ann, and Missy.

She also loved to watch her grandson J.C. play the drums in his band. She had a strong love for her family and enjoyed taking care of everyone.

Debbie was born October 2, 1958, in Lansing, MI, to the late Kenneth David Simmons and the late Joan Farmer Simmons.

She was married December 28, 1996, to David Sweeney, who survives, of Springville, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by her daughter, Kelley (Jeff) Gregory of Paris; two sisters, Kathy French of Paris, and Lisa Simmons Rhodes of Papillion, NE; 1 grandson, J.C. Gregory; her mother and father-in-law, Phil and Ruth Sweeney; one sister-in-law, Deanna Perry of Big Sandy, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Corey Solowey; and two brothers, Sammy Simmons and Kenny Simmons.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

The family requests that face coverings be worn during the visitation and funeral service.

Cremation will follow the funeral service.

Memorials may be made to the Henry County Sheriff's Office Animal Shelter, PO Box 639, Paris, TN 38242.
