Michael Wayne Gower, Sr., age 61 of Pinson, passed away on September 27, 2021 in Jackson.
He was born on January 16, 1960 in Madison County to the Gladys Taylor Walters and the late Kenneth Wayne Gower. Mike was a dedicated family man. He loved his family and was a dedicated father to children that weren't his but he raised them as his own. Mike loved good music and motorcycles. He will be remembered as an awesome grandpa with a great sense of humor.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Walters, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gower; children, Kelly Gower (partner, Becky Rivera), Michael Wayne Gower, Jr., Jackie Mullikin (Kay), Arin Gower (fiancé, Jaden), Krista Nichole Campbell (Daniel); grandchildren, Brianna Marie Howerton, Danye Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Kayla Campbell, and one on the way, Aiden Wayne Gower; his parents, Bobby and Gladys Walters; three siblings, Larry Gower (Michele), Ronald Walters (April), Rita Hornsby (Rockie); and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Patrick Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
