On September 19, 2021, Susan Kay Carlson (née Reiser) gained her angel wings.

Susan was born in Valentine, Nebraska and passed away when she was 63 years old. Tragically, she was the victim of a car accident resulting from another driver running a stop sign.

Her family and friends miss her dearly.

Susan is survived by her children, Michael and Brandee, her mother, Mary Ann Reiser, her siblings, Bob Reiser, Bill Reiser, Sherry Reiser, Beth Pinkley, and Cindy Johnston, and her beloved nieces and nephews.

During her career, Susan served as an office manager at dental practices, including Dr. Jeanne Taylor, DDS and Taylor Dental Associates.

She was a devout Catholic, and she practiced her faith at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Taylor.

Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on Tuesday September, 28th, 2021 at 5:00 PM followed by a rosary service at 6:00 PM. The funeral will be held on Wednesday September 29th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Susan engaged with many community members in Taylor while working at a local business, Pilot Knob. She approached anyone she met with love and support and left them with joy and optimism.

Making Susan laugh was easy because she always kept her joy high in her chest. Her laugh echoed through a room and danced in her eyes. Susan was a light in the darkness.

Susan was the ultimate caregiver. By day she charmed and befriended the patients of Dr. Jeanne Taylor. By night, she was an impeccable cook and a devoted caregiver to her mother.

To her children, she was a doting mother and a quirky partner-in-crime.

We miss Susan to the moon and back. Susan, we will always love you.
