Message received from great granddaughter:

"I'm Lewis Newsbaums youngest great-granddaughter. My grandmother was Bertie Lou Newsbaum. I don't know if this changes much, but Robert Frank Newsbaum, although labeled as Lewis's half-brother, was actually Lewis's son. Lewis was married to a young Jewish girl, who gave birth to Robert, but once Lewis himself renounced his faith and converted to Christianity, his father and mother disowned him and raised Robert themselves from the time he was a baby. I don't know if Robert was ever legally adopted by his paternal grandparents, but it was a big family secret for quite some time. Again, I wouldn't know legally what Lewis and Roberts familial relationship was labeled as, but they weren't half-brothers. They were father and son, only raised as brothers." (Manager of Robert Newsbaum 1032216 would have to fix the family link) 4/10/2024.

Memorial originally created from Waterford Twp. cemetery records.
