Joe Boyd French, age 73, of Broughtontown and formerly of Simpsonville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1948 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Pearl French. Joe spent his working years at Ford Motor Company's Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and retired after 30 years to farm back in Lincoln County on the farm where he was raised.

Joe was a member of the First Church of Jesus Christ in Sand Springs, Kentucky where he served as guitarist and shared the Holy word on Saturday nights. Joe was a great friend to many in his community and held the role of director over the Broughtontown Community Center for many years.

Joe loved people, loved to joke around, always looked for ways to help those that needed it, and was a great neighbor. He helped so many people through the dedication of his time and good will, and was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him and his infectious laugh.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce French and Gladys Bryant; two brothers, Russell and Johnny; two brothers-in-law, Pete Bryant and Dennis Taylor; and a sister-in-law, Connie French.
