Mary Catherine Crisman McClanahan, 91, of Fort Valley, Virginia passed away September 24, 2021 at Inova Loudoun Hospital A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Isaiah Clem Cemetery in Fort Valley. Pastor John Senters will officiate.
Mary was born January 9, 1930 to John William Crisman and Maude May McDaniel Crisman in Shenandoah County, Virginia.
Mary graduated from Edinburg High School in 1947. Mary worked at several businesses in Shenandoah County until she married Melvin L. McClanahan on September 27, 1950.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Neff (Wesley) and Thomas McClanahan; her five grandchildren, Wendy Bulatko (Eugene), Joseph Neff (Valerie), Thomas McClanahan II (Amanda), Timothy McClanahan and Ida McClanahan and their mother, Linda McClanahan; eight grandchildren, Carolyn Monn (Justin), Catherine Bulatko, Austin Biller, Zoey Neff, Isabella McClanahan, Marques, James and Tyson McClanahan; two great great grandchildren, Brantley and Kinsley Monn; sister, Doris Crisman; brother, Ben Crisman and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings, Philip, Fred and John Crisman and Hazel Barton and two great grandchildren, Linsey and Jacob Neff.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
