Professor emeritus of Biology Dr. Ted Tipton Allen passed away peacefully on Mon., Sept. 3, 2018 after a short but hard-fought illness. A 47-year veteran of Jacksonville University in Florida, Dr. Allen is fondly remembered.
As a memorial to Ted, the Department of Biology and Marine Science plans to install a picnic table and bird feeders, and to plant a tree(s) near the native plant garden that Ted helped establish behind the Reid Medical Building. Any funds raised in excess of the cost to install the memorial will go to the Ted Allen and Bill Robertson Scholarship Fund.
