Hal F. Thompson died from natural causes on September 14, 2021. He was born in Eagle City, Oklahoma, where he cowboyed during the early years of his life. He was a loving husband of 60 years and a caring father of his three daughters and son. He was a faithful minister of Christ for 70 years in the United States, Germany, Central America, and Mexico. As a true American patriot he served his country in the Air Force, stationed in Germany, where he joined the Navigators ministry and deepened his love for memorizing scripture. As a missionary and church planter he worked to start a church in Guadalajara, Mexico. He also worked to start Fellowship Bible Church in Pharr, Texas, of which he was the pastor until his death. He was a dedicated teacher of the Word of God and helped lead numerous people to Christ and helped them to grow in their walk with the Lord. Acts 26:18 was one of his favorite passages to clearly teach the gospel of Jesus Christ showing that people should RECOGNIZE they were sinners and Jesus is the solution, REPENT of their sins and RECEIVE salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Survivors are his loving wife, Frieda Etheridge Thompson; four children, Sara (Bob) Peaster, Miriam (Greg) Whitten, Nathan (Sara) Thompson, Esther (Jason) Irish; grandchildren Ashley Peaster, Andrea (Lacy) Culpepper, Adam Peaster, Zachary Whitten, Katie (Christian) Dane, Amy (Austin) Dane, Marjorie (Kyle) Robey, Hadassah Irish, Hannah Irish, Hope Irish, Hal Irish, Hayden Irish; great-grandchild, Margaret Frieda Dane; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Roland and Hilda Fay Thompson, and eleven brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen, Texas 78501. A brief burial service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran's Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd. Mission, Texas 78572

Se llevará a cabo la visitación el jueves 23 de septiembre de 2021 a las 10:00 a.m. con un servicio conmemorativo a las 11:00 a.m. en la Funeraria Rivera, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen, Texas 78501.
