After moving from the farm to a home in Marshalltown, Ruth worked for the Anson School Cafeteria and as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at the Marshall County Home and Villa Del Sol nursing home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, playing the slot machines at local casinos, traveling with her friend Rose Menter, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends at the Moose Lodge.
Ruth is survived by her stepchildren Catherine (David) Bush, Daniel Rebik, Christine (James) Crandell, Charlene Smith, Cynthia (Mark) Christensen; stepdaughter-in-law Sharon Rebik; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Hilbert; sister Frances Slinger; husbands, Robert Bell and Erwin Rebik; stepson David Rebik; and stepson-in-law John Smith.
