Mary Jette Siefkas, daughter of Guy Arnold Hess and Orella Geals (Cram) Hess was born July 24, 1932 in Madison County, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Southern Hills Specialty Care at 89 years of age.

Mary received her education first attending school in Truro, Iowa and later transferring to Murray Community High School where she graduated in 1950.

She was united in marriage to Leonard DeMoss Siefkas on May 28, 1950 at Murray, Iowa and they were the parents of four children, Becky Sue, Tom, Tim and Ted.

Mary worked as the director of the Hot Lunch Program for Murray Community Schools for nearly thirty-seven years. She was a member of Murray United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, was an excellent cook, family was everything to her. She was the grandkids "Grandma".

Those relatives who preceded Mary in death were her parents; husband, Leonard; father-in-law, Thomas Jessie Siefkas; mother-in-law, Bessie Burnetta Selsor Siefkas; daughter, Becky Sue Siefkas; brothers, Guy Hess, Boyd Hess, Billy Wayne Hess, George Hess, Mack Hess; sisters, Doris Ann Hess, Freda Marie Schaff, Georgia Jones, Lois Warren.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory; sons, Tom Siefkas of Murray, IA, Tim (Jana) Siefkas of Creston, IA, Ted (Karen) Siefkas of East Troy, WI; grandchildren, Gregory Siefkas of Ankeny, IA, Jeremy Shell of Columbus, NE, Terra Brown of Des Moines, IA, Alyson (Milan) Moses of West Des Moines, IA, Shawn (Aleah) Siefkas of Des Moines, IA, Nicholas (Shyanne) Siefkas of East Troy, WI, Ryan Siefkas of East Troy, WI: great-grandchildren, Blake Siefkas, Trayvon Brown, Abbygail Brown, Noah Moses, Zyon Moses, Isaac Siefkas, Vera Siefkas, Orin Siefkas; brother, Pete (Nancy) Hess of Millard, NE as well as other relatives and many friends.
