Eric LaJuan Martin began his earthly journey on July 28, 1972 in Monticello, AR. He was born to the late Willie Lee Woods Martin and Willie James "Boyd-Dee" Walton. Eric transitioned to be with the Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR.

Eric was a graduate of Monticello High School, Class of 1991. Soon after graduating, he was employed at Burlington Industries in Monticello, AR. He followed his passion of styling hair and became a licensed cosmetologist upon completion of his formal training at Deluxe Beauty School of Pine Bluff. God allowed Eric to accomplish a major life milestone – realizing his dream of opening his own salon, eric L Hair Studio in Little Rock. He was a legendary stylist with loyal clientele who supported him for many years.

Eric loved the Lord and served as a greeter at St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. He later transferred his membership to Grace Temple Church in Little Rock, AR and became a member of the Media Ministry as a photographer.

Just like his late mother, Mrs. Willie Lee Martin, Eric was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger. Throughout his entire life, Eric brought joy to everyone in his presence. As an ambassador for Baptist Health Rehabilitation Services, he shared his inspiring story of overcoming and persevering after the life-changing event of becoming a double amputee. He touched so many lives and always tried to make a difference.

Eric was an amazing person who treated everyone like family. He had such an outgoing spirit, and he was truly the life of the party. He also had a love of decorating, gospel music, fashion, dancing, gaming, card playing, photography, and traveling. He also enjoyed emceeing special events, including pageants and parties. He was a well-loved popular host at The Wing Shack in Little Rock, AR. If there was a microphone available at any event, you can guarantee it would eventually land in the hands of Mr. Eric L Martin.

Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Willie Lee Martin; brother, Kenneth Ray Martin; grandparents, H.B Woods, Johnnie Q. Clearly, James Z. Walton, Alberta "Madea" Walton; and nephew, Me'Akel Lendun Martin.

Eric leaves to cherish his memory, a beautiful family who can rejoice in knowing that he is present with the Lord!
