Nancy E. Phillips, age 75, of Rittman, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, September 24, 2021, at Wadsworth Pointe, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Nancy was born on March 23, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Robert Doman and Betty (Wenger) Coolman and married Clifton Phillips on April 26, 1969 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seville. Clifton passed away in 1985.
She graduated from Cloverleaf High School with the class of 1964 and attended Bowling Green State University for several years. She worked in Customer Service for PNC for nearly 50 years, retiring on May 13, 2015. She also worked part-time for over 15 years at Bath & Body Works in Akron and Wooster.
Nancy was a member of Milton Presbyterian Church in Rittman, where she formerly was a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and sang in the church choir. She was also the former President of the Rittman Kiwanis club, and was a part of Junior Achievement. She enjoyed gambling, especially playing the slots down at Belterra in Florence, Indiana. She also was well known for her sweet tooth, and loved to be around people, especially her family.
Surviving are her two children, Michael (Cicilia) Phillips of Akron, and Julie (Chad Remis) Karnuth of Wadsworth; grandson, Christian Karnuth of New Tazewell, TN; her uncle, Marion "Moe" Moser of Springfield, VA; many special cousins; and her special friends, John & Regina Soltis.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Ralph Coolman, and longtime companion, Wade Wolfe.

Friends may call from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 30th, 2021 at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday morning, October 1st, at the committal shelter at Rittman Cemetery, 14300 Decourcey Rd. in Rittman, with Rev. Alex Barnes officiating.
