George Christopher Keith Turner Jr. September 22, 1946 - September 23, 2021

Seneca, S.C.- George Christopher (Chris) Keith Turner, Jr., husband of Janey Davis Turner, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his home. He had just celebrated his 75th birthday on September 22, 2021 and an anniversary with Janey on September 20, 2021.

Chris was born in Gaffney, South Carolina, in 1946 to Mr. and Mrs. Keith Turner, Sr. He attended Gaffney High School and Furman University, where he was a member of the ROTC program. He entered the United States Army as a Lieutenant and was promoted to Captain and served in Special Forces in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star for "services and bravery beyond the call of duty." Chris received his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. He spent most of his business career with Southern Bell and the banking industry where he received numerous awards. Prior to his declining health, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at the Holly Tree Country Club where he was a member. He enjoyed his lake home at Lake Hartwell for many years. He will be remembered for his honesty and directness. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-son, Scott Davis; sister, Debbie Clary (Keaton), Gaffney, S.C.; brother, Bill Turner (Jackie), Lexington, S.C.; sister-in-law, Susan Pierce, St. Simons Island, Ga.; sister-in-law, Harriett McNeal, Gainesville, Ga.; three nephews, Judd Clary, Shane Clary (Joanna) and Will Turner (Katie); a niece, Abby Tanner (Austin); a great-nephew, Braxton Tanner; a special friend, Mary Ella Clark; and numerous cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite-300, Jacksonville, Fl, 32256.

A graveside service with military honors, will be held at 4:00 p.m on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
