Death on the Rail.
Conductor E. W. Hyman Killed.
The Body to be Brought Home.
A fatal accident occurred on the P. & E. railroad this morning at Westport, above Renovo. Shortly after 10 o'clock dispatch was received by uncle Jacob Hyman, depot master this city, stating that his son E. W. Hyman, was killed. The dispatch was dated at Renovo, and stated that the killing of the young man occurred this morning, and that his father was wanted to come up at once. The deceased, Mr. E.W. Hyman, was conductor on the Erie Mail, and left here at 4:30 this morning. His father and brother left on a special train immediately on receipt of the news, to bring home the remains. We shall have particulars on Monday.
The accident is said to be bad.

Railroad Accident
A terrible accident is said to have occurred on the Philadelphia and Erie railroad, below Renovo, Clinton county, on Saturday last. As the Railroad employees are forbid to give any information in regard to what occurs on the road, we are without particulars. As we go to press Monday morning, we only know that Ellis Hyman, son of J. Hyman of Williamsport, conductor of the train which passed here at 3:30 a.m., was killed, and that physicians were taken on Saturday both from Williamsport and Lock Haven to the scene of the disaster.
