Mary Lou Stubbs, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on September 24, 2021.

She was born on January 31, 1958 in Hope Mills, NC.

Mary worked for Croft Metals for 21 years before she opened a home daycare, where she provided a safe, loving environment for many children. Mema Mary loved her babies! She continued to take care of children until her health prevented her from working full time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Ashley Corum (Mae) and Hursie Jean Hall-Meredith; her grandmother, Marybell Dowd Hall; two brothers, Dale Meredith and Tony Lewis; and an uncle, John Hall.

Mary is survived by her husband of 35 years, Duane Stubbs; one son, Jonathan Stubbs; one daughter, Whitney Stubbs (Joshua Scott); three granddaughters: Brittlyn L. Stubbs, Makaylee J. Bryant, and Aryan L. Scott; three sisters: Donna Lowder ( Donnie), Tammy Harvatin (Rikky), and Wanda Mayer (Mac); three brothers: Chris Meredith (Monika), Roy Corrum (Kandi), and Aaron Meredith; her nieces and nephews: Shayne Lowder (Jay-Jay, SJ, Murphy), Micheal Stubbs (Kendall), Mathew Hunt, Annesha Hunt, Ashley Owens, and Richy Harvatin; one sister in law, Renee Hunt ( Guy); a special aunt, Shirley Matthews; and two special friends, Pam Bass and Carol Hunt.

The funeral services will be held in East Lumberton Baptist Church. The burial services will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery of Lumberton, NC.
