SMSgt Joseph D. Scott Jr., age 84, of Dayton, passed away on September 21, 2021. Joseph was born to the late Joseph D. Scott Sr. and Rebecca Brown Scott Hill on June 6, 1937 in Minden, LA.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Hideko H. Scott and younger brother, Billie R. Scott.

Joseph will be remembered by his children: Joseph (Suzanne) Scott III; Rebecca (Darryl) Bellamy, and Kazuko (Jawed) Ghias; grandchildren: Quiana Boswell, Sade Harrison, Brittany Bellamy, Jared Harrison, Javon Harrison, Devin Bellamy and Danielle Scott, Great-grandchildren: Courtney, Cayden and Imani; and many other loving family, extended family and friends and his SGI Community.

Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force (35 years of service) and worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years following his retirement from the USAF.

Joseph was known to be a man of integrity. One of Joseph's biggest accomplishments was being a father and grandfather. He was always there for them through their ups and downs, and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. Additionally, he had a love for football and coaching football, fishing and barbequing on the grill.
