David was formerly the assistant superintendent with the City of Madisonville Water Filtration Department. He enjoyed watching wrestling and loved trains, he gained the fascination from his father who worked with the railroad. He truly enjoyed spending most of his time with his family and his grandchildren. David was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his newborn daughter, Crystal Cunningham; and his brother, Jerry Wallace.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Mildred Cunningham; son, David Eugene Cunningham of Madisonville; daughter, Karen (Henry) Cunningham Freeman of Clarksville, TN; sister, Alice Baker of Madisonville; granddaughter, Kelinna Freeman; and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson with Pastor Jeff Winfrey officiating. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
