Frances Winifred Polston Martin
July 22, 1944 ~ September 14, 2021

Frances Polston was born July 22, 1944 in New Orleans and grew up in Denton, Texas. She passed away September 14, 2021 after a brief battle with Covid.

She graduated from Denton High School and the University of North Texas. In 1963 she married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Bob Martin. She raised her family in the Mid-Cities area.

After working in various office positions she became a full time Mom. She was a wonderful wife and a dedicated loving mother, raising a daughter and son who love and adore her. After they were on their own she entered the mental health field, a field she enjoyed and that suited her well; she loved to help others. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Hurst where she taught Bible studies, started two Connection classes and was a founding member of Regen, a Bible-based twelve-step program. Fran was a gifted teacher who loved nothing more than leading Bible studies and discipling women.

Fran greatly enjoyed traveling in the RV with all her family. They made so many special trips to Red River, NM, different parts of Colorado and… that trip to Alaska! She loved trips with her cousins and sister. Her happiest times were being with her family. She loved playing games with her family and spending holidays and meals together. She loved people and was loved by so many. All around her were aware of her infectious smile and love for Jesus!

Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alice Polston. Survived by her husband of 58 years, John R. "Bob" Martin, daughter, Karen Martin Ford, son, Craig Martin and two grandsons, her sister, Jacqueline Polston Blakley, her cousins and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
