Bob was born in Dimmit on September 25, 1929, to Vern and Kenny McDowell. Bob was an ornery man but could make anyone laugh with his sense of humor. He was a hard-working man. He worked for ASARCO for 37 Years. After retiring, Bob tended to the Livestock on the plant's fields. That was Bob's passion. He loved taking care of livestock. He raised Quarter horses, Sheep, and one goat. Bob also enjoyed gardening. If you couldn't find Bob, chances are you could find him in his garden somewhere with a pocketknife and a watermelon. Bob was a dedicated husband, father, and Servant of God. His faith and passion for the word of Christ meant the world to him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers; Elmo and Elvin McDowell, and his former wife, Dana McDowell.
He is survived by his wife, Elain McDowell, his two daughters; Valorie Allen and her Significant other Walt Wilson, and Jenifer Moreno and her husband Ryan, one stepdaughter, Sherri Vance, two stepsons; Charles Case and his wife Adina, and Douglas, 10 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, and 6 great-greatgrandchildren, his twin brother, Bill McDowell, his brother, Leland McDowell, and his sister, Carolyn Robertson,
