Janet Marie Bell, 40, of Gaffney, S.C., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2021.
Janet was born at Lexington Hospital in Columbia, S.C. on June 15th, 1981. She was the daughter of Rev. Gary Jackson Bell and Mary Ellen Etters Bell of Gaffney.
She was a wonderful and a devoted daughter who lit up a room with her wit and joyous personality. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Limestone University. Janet was a kindergarten teacher at The Promised Land's Legacy Christian School in Spartanburg, S.C. Janet was a devoted and enthusiastic Clemson fan, adored the Atlanta Braves, loved her family, and helping others. She was a sweet soul who loved working with children. She was a devout Christian and a member of the North Spartanburg Church of God in Spartanburg, S.C. where she taught Sunday School for children.
Janet is survived by her parents, her older brother Martin Bell (Julie) of Mullins, S.C.; her older sister Diane Bell Humphries (LeRoy) of Green Sea, S.C.; two nieces, Leah Humphries Caywood and Kylie Bell; a nephew, Tyler Humphries; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Francis Everett Bell and Betty Sue Bell, Ara Buford Plato, and her maternal grandparents James W. Etters and Ella Mae Etters.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at North Spartanburg Church of God. Memorial services will follow at the Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Larry Flippo officiating. Social distancing and masks are requested.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the North Spartanburg Church of God, 2069 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303 or the Church of God Children's Home, 1815 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, S.C. 29681.
