LaToya Clara Acree received her wings and departed this life on Saturday, September 18, 2021. LaToya was born on November 23, 1979, to Telia Acree and the late Milton Carpenter. She was the granddaughter of the late Sterling and Clara Acree. LaToya's life was the epitome of a S.I.N.G.E.R.

S=SAVED & SENSATIONAL. LaToya received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age at the Antioch Baptist Church in Champlain, Virginia. After High School, LaToya moved to Woodbridge, VA and then to Spotsylvania, VA, where she joined the Mt. Hope Baptist Church, and sang in the Mt. Hope Combined Mass Choir. She Truly Loved The Lord.

I=Inspirational & Innovative. LaToya always had a word of encouragement in her heart for people. She inspired many with her melodious angelic voice. She sang in a musical play and every Wednesday at the Recreation Center in Fredericksburg, VA. LaToya was innovative. She was always thinking of ways to reinvent herself. She was an entrepreneur and opened her own beauty shop while creating her own line of wigs called LaToya's A. Hair. LaToya wanted to be the best version of herself.

N=Nurturing & Noteworthy. LaToya was indeed a nurturer. She was the essence of a loving single mother who cherished her children and was very protective over them. She was noteworthy. She starred in an upcoming movie called "DISTRICT QUEENS" produced by Broadway Harris . LaToya Played the character of Ebony in the play. She was currently the lead singer for the True Soul Band under the leadership of Mr. Caesar Roy, III. She was deeply loved by her band members.

G=GO GETTER & GORGEOUS. LaToya was a go getter. She was educated in the public school system in Essex and Arlington County, VA. She graduated from Paul Mitchell Hair School and received her license in Cosmetology. She also received a certificate in healthcare for Phlebotomy. She continued her education at Germanna Community College and received her associate degree in Criminal Justice. She was currently studying for her bachelor's degree in Social Work at Walden University. LaToya had a strong work ethic. She worked for a beauty shop and later opening her own. She worked for Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician and as a Medical Transport. LaToya was beautiful inside and out.

E=ENTERTAINING & ENTREPRENEUR. LaToya loved entertaining and hanging out with her family and friends. She would walk in a room and light it up with her wittiness and her infectious smile. She had a big personality. LaToya was not only an entertainer, but she was also enthusiastic about all that she did. LaToya loved cooking. It was therapeutic for her. She profoundly told people that she received her cooking skills from her mother and grandmother. It was with enthusiasm and joy that she displayed her culinary skills on Facebook, making our mouths salivate at her homemade salmon cakes, pork chops, mac and cheese, biscuits and meat loaf, just to name a few. I know your mouth is watering right now.

R=RELATABLE & RELIABLE. LaToya was so relatable and reliable. She loved children and had a heart for those who were less fortunate. She could relate to the struggles of being a single mom of 4 children and faced it head on. LaToya did the best she could in providing for her family. She shared her experiences with other women encouraging them to stay with the process and trust God for guidance. LaToya wanted to see others become the best version of themselves.

LATOYA WILL TRULY BE MISSED!!!
