Dorothy began travelling in the USA, working in the food service industry. In the Portland, OR area; then NYC near her brother; also, Toledo, OH, Hollywood, CA, San Francisco, CA, and finally Anchorage, AK. What a change!
In 1992 she was baptized at Northside 7th Day Adventist Church where she attended for several years. Throughout her life she had a great appreciation for beautiful settings, flowers, beautiful music and dancing, walking, also cooking special meals for friends, one at a time.
She is survived by her younger sister Shirley Jean Engen and Shirley's children; niece Sallie (Hartley) Plaster (Husband Leroy Plaster, deceased), Sherrie Lynn Plaster, Todd Hartley Plaster (wife Julie) (children Asia Liu, Tristan, and River Plaster); David Wayne Plaster (deceased) and James Z. Plaster (wife Jeri) (children Brooke Plaster and Brandon Plaster); and many other nieces and nephews.
Deceased siblings were brother Edwin Adams, sisters Marguerite Awilaa Louise (Hartley) Adams and Elsie Garner Williams, also nephew Jerrie Lee Hartley.
