Steve Wade Harris, 81, husband of Katherine Porter Harris, passed away at his home on Friday afternoon. He was born in Rockingham, NC to the late Robert and Blanche Bridges Harris. He is also survived by one son, Steve Wade Harris, Jr. (Patricia); one daughter, Tina Porter (Mark); four brothers, Robert Harris, Jr., Jerry Harris, Perry Harris and Leo Harris; one sister, Joan Hager; grand-children, Breah Harris, Kaitlyn Roof, Amber Davis, Brett Matthews and Ashley White; one great-grandson, Grayson Inman; a large number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Harris was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. Mr. Harris was retired from Springs Industries in Chester. He enjoyed farming and loved working in his garden, and hunting birds and rabbits.
The visitation will be 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., September 26th. at Wilksburg Baptist Church. The Celebration of life will be conducted by Reverend Seth Johnson at 4:00 p.m.
