Neal James Smith, age 79 of Carnesville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Born in Carnesville, Georgia on January 16, 1942, he was a son of the late Rupert Smith and Eudie Cash Smith. Mr. Smith retired from Tencate with over 20 years of service. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Allen Smith of Carnesville; son, Jamie Neal Smith of Carnesville; daughter and son-in-law, Alicia Smith & Kevin Harrison of Gillsville; grandchildren, Reece, Chason, Ashlyn, Jayce and Anden; brother, Sherman Smith of Carnesville; twin sister, Nelar McGee of Toccoa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery, 2493 Damascus Road, Baldwin, Georgia 30511 with Rev. Zach Watson and Rev. Stacey Roberts officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Pkwy #222, Gainesville, GA 30501.

Those in attendance are asked to please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
