Christina Elisa Holmes, 45, of North Chatham passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017, following a long struggle with cancer: a battle of courage. Christina was the beloved wife of Thomas C. Holmes and mother of Thomas J. Holmes and Lilliana M. Holmes. She was born in Watertown, Connecticut on March 28, 1972 to Gennaro and Anne Romano of North Chatham, Massachusetts and Watertown, Connecticut.
She graduated from Watertown High School in Connecticut and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Connecticut. Following graduation, she worked at Yale University in the Genetics Department. After moving to Cape Cod, she worked at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
Christina was passionate about the sciences and always found time to tutor students struggling with the subjects. Her family, however, was the light of her life. Christina was intelligent, strong, intuitive, curious, generous, and kind. She instilled high qualities in her precious children: Tom and Lily. Her high standards, from academics to work to family, continue to be a source of inspiration. She attended St. Christopher's Church in Chatham.
