She graduated from Watertown High School in Connecticut and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Connecticut. Following graduation, she worked at Yale University in the Genetics Department. After moving to Cape Cod, she worked at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
Christina was passionate about the sciences and always found time to tutor students struggling with the subjects. Her family, however, was the light of her life. Christina was intelligent, strong, intuitive, curious, generous, and kind. She instilled high qualities in her precious children: Tom and Lily. Her high standards, from academics to work to family, continue to be a source of inspiration. She attended St. Christopher's Church in Chatham.
Christina is survived by her loving in-laws, Thomas and Mary Holmes of North Chatham, MA and Long Boat Key, FL; Andrew and Bobbi Walbert of Newtown, CT; sister, Joyce Romano and her children, Kayla and Simone, of CT; brother, Gennaro Romano IV of MA; sister-in-law, Jennifer Pinney, husband Jason and their children, Cormac and Ryan, of MA; sister-in-law, Katie Kraft, husband Alex and their children, Julian, Milly and Colbie, of FL; brother-in-law, Shawn Rosenthal of CA; sister-in-law, Kim Rosenthal of CT; sister-in-law, Michelle Johnson, husband Senter and their children, Grady and June, of FL; sister-in-law, Allison Holmes of MA; and sister-in-law, Jackie Avery, husband Ryan and their son, Jackson, of MA.
A private memorial service was held on April 14, 2017 at St. Christopher's Church in Chatham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
