David Lamar Stephens, 73, resident of Iva, SC, husband of Sheila N. Stephens, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Anderson, SC, David was the son of the late Hampton Towers Stephens and Mildred Cain Stephens.
David was a very talented carpenter and enjoyed working on anything with his hands. David enjoyed spending time at local flea markets and auction sells around town as well as making many trips to the mountains.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Tonya Simmons of Anderson, David Jason Stephens of Anderson, Johnny Gray of Anderson, Donna Cain of Anderson, Jennifer Cain of Anderson, and David Dwayne Stroud of Anderson, and a sister, Sandra S. (Jerry) Meints of Greenwood. David is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends the night before on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Maple Room at The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center.
