Wesley Townsend October 24, 1969 - September 21, 2021
Wesley Townsend, 51, of McKinney Texas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in McKinney.
He began his life journey when he was born in Gaffney, S.C. on October 24, 1969. He graduated from Gaffney High School in 1987. Then he went on to become a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Wesley served for ten years as a Sergeant at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. His journey took him to McKinney Texas where he was the Director of Pre-Construction for FTK Construction Services in Allen, Texas.
He is survived by his daughter, Sophie Townsend of Gastonia, N.C. and his father, Gerry Townsend and sister Paige Townsend both of Gaffney.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Ramsey Townsend and his sister Ashley Townsend.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Midway Baptist Church, 153 Midway Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341. Social distancing and masks are requested.
The family will be at the home of his aunt Pat Wells at 406 E. Montgomery Street, Gaffney.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
