He is preceded in death by his parents; Charles David Smedley and Rhoda Virginia Jones Smedley and sister, Sandra Prince.
David leaves his years of memories to his wife, Wanda Henson Smedley; son, David (Cheryl) Smedley Jr.; sisters, Peggy (Ronnie) Morris and Theresa Thomas; granddaughter, Sarah (Josh) Smedley Hahn; great-grandchildren, Kohl and Samuel Hahn along with several nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
He was a loving and sweet husband, father, grandfather, brother and good hearted person. David assisted anyone that needed help. He was a man that you never saw without a smile on his face and a heart so big that he never met a stranger. David enjoyed the outdoors, mowing on his John Deere mower and gardening. His love of God's nature was very humbling to the man he had been.
The family will have visitation on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm CST/1:00 pm to 2:00 pm EST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.
There will be a graveside service following the visitation at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, in Jasper, TN at 1:30 pm CST/2:30 pm EST with Brother Michael Irwin officiating.
