John "Jack" S. Erickson
February 10, 1928 - September 19, 2021

At the age of 93 the Lord called Jack home on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Born February 10, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. His family moved to Hobart, Indiana in 1935. Graduated from Hobart High School in 1947. Married Lois Mummery in 1948.

Preceded in death, father, Irving Erickson; mother, Evelyn Erickson; brother, Donald Erickson; sister, Marilyn Seeley; and son in law, Douglas Yoder.

Surviving family members, wife, Lois Mummery Erickson of Brownsburg, Indiana; daughter, Charlotte Yoder of Avon, Indiana; sons, Randall (Connie) Erickson of Hobart, Indiana, Donald (Carolyn) Erickson of Spokane, Washington; brother, Robert (Phyllis) Erickson of Francesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Scott (LeAnne) Yoder of Westville, Indiana, Matthew (Dawn) Yoder of Marion, Indiana, Brian (Christy) Yoder of Plainfield, Indiana, Christopher (Melissa) Erickson of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Cyndi Erickson of Spokane, Washington, Benjamin (Amanda) Erickson of Hobart, Indiana, Rachel (Scott) Stone of Avon, Indiana; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was a dedicated employee of Eichleay Corporation of Pittsburgh, PA. As the Lead Project Manager and Chicago Division Manager he supervised large industrial construction projects in the Midwest. He later transferred to the Eichleay Engineering Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA where he supervised large industrial construction projects in Washington, California and Texas. He retired in 2002.

Jack was a life member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers.

Jack was saved and baptized at the First Baptist Church in Hobart, Indiana in October 1945. Jack and Lois were married for 73 years and faithfully attended the First Baptist Church for 33 years before moving to DeMotte, Indiana. He served as a Trustee and a Deacon and was actively involved as a Sunday School Teacher. He also served on several building committees and supervised the construction of the Education Building. Jack and Lois have been members of Faith Baptist Church in Danville, Indiana since moving to Brownsburg, Indiana in 2008.

A funeral service for Jack will take place Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:30 am at New Life Community Church, 1 North Pennsylvania St., Hobart, Indiana with Pastors Daniel Gute and Jason Pena of New Life Community Church and Pastor Monte of Faith Baptist Church of Danville officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the church. He will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at DeMotte Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
