Paul Daniel Collins, 90, of Gastonia, NC passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2021. He was born May 16, 1930, in Thomasville, NC, a son of the late Ray and Susan Ella Hall Collins.

Paul was best known as a pastor who loved everyone without question. He was an ordained minister and founder of the Union Road Church of God where he served 24 years of his 64 years of ministry. He also pastored Bessemer City, Raleigh, Gastonia, Mount Holly & South Rocky Mount Churches of God. Paul served the Church of God organization, based in Cleveland, Tennessee, in multiple administrative roles. He was a veteran of the Korean War during his service in the United States Air Force.

Paul is survived by his wife of sixty years, Patsie.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Sulaine Bean and husband, Dennis; Danny Collins, and wife, Lisa; Patty Keul and husband, Steve; Carlton Collins; Sammy Collins and wife, Kim.

Paul was one of 11 children and is preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Cruz, Helen Stumbo, Faye Trussler and brother, John Collins. He is also survived by sisters, Jewel Parton, Katherine Auten, Maynell Foster & Judy Collins and brothers, Ralph & Ray Jr. Collins.

He loved all of his grandchildren, Bryan Bean and wife, Holly; Matthew Chestnut and wife, Brittany; Michael Keul, Brandon Bean, Taylor Bean, Jonathan Collins, Samantha Collins, and Braeden Collins; and great-grandchildren, Collin and Noah Bean.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday March 16, 2021 at Union Road Church of God and the family will be available to greet friends following the service. A private graveside service will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
