David Gene "Buzzard" Brooks, 68, of Stinnett, TX died Sept. 22, 2021.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 27, 2021, at First Street Church in Dumas, TX. Burial will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, TX, 500 N. Maddox Ave.

David was born July 14, 1953, in Dumas, TX to Perry and Violet Brooks. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1972.

He married Stephanie Traylor on November 21, 1990, in Dumas. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for 34 years. David loved old cars, especially Studebakers. He enjoyed watching the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He also loved to campout and BBQ. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jack and Sonny Brooks.

Survivors include his wife Stephanie Brooks, of Stinnett, TX; three daughters, Jackie Fae Brown of Kernersville, NC, Sasha Duque of Borger, TX, and Tiffany Davis of Houston, TX; two sons, Clinton Brooks of Dugway, UT, and Cody Davis of Amarillo, TX; a brother, Danny Brooks of Georgia; two sisters Darlene Coday, of Arizona and Gloria Brown of Indiana; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
