Barbara Shirley (Ambrose) Gregg of Hingham, born in Taunton and formerly of Hyannis and Brewster, died November 1, 2018. Throughout Barbara's marriage, she moved 22 times with her husband all over New England in support of his career with the W.T. Grant Company. She was a passionate animal lover, raising Arabian horses for 30 years and breeding black Labrador Retrievers. She could often be found surrounded by many additional furry friends in the barn or her home as well. Her caring nature led her to work at Brewster Manor as a nurse's aide, which she truly enjoyed. She will be deeply missed. Beloved wife of Richard "Dick" Gregg of Hingham, who was also born in Taunton, she was the devoted mother of Richard J. Gregg and his wife Ann of Naples, Fla., Peter M. Gregg and his wife Barbara of Easthampton, Margaret "Penni" Hughes and her husband Tom of Hingham and Kelly C. Gregg and his wife Deb of Sandwich; cherished grandmother of Julie Gregg, Lori Doherty, Kelley Miller, Meagan and Jackson Gregg, Katie Hughes, Danielle and Kristen Gregg; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Maeve, Colin, Elijah, Piper and Olivia. Services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara may be made to the Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center, McLean Hospital, Mailstop 138, 115 Mill Street, Belmont, MA 02478, attention: Julie.
